Does anyone know what happened to the following U.S. Army Air Corps men after WW II? All of them were part of (or briefly had contact with) the 344th Bombardment Group (M) of the 496th Bomb Squadron of the 9th Air Force -- flying B-26 Martin Marauders ca. 1944-1945:

Biggs, Lawrence, S/Sgt
Bowser, Chester, Sgt
Caldwell, Keith, 1st Lt.
Cargill, "Silver Star" -- from San Francisco
Cook, David, Captain
Davidson, John, PFC
Keys, Eldon, T/Sgt
Lohnes, ? -- parachuted from plane Mar 4, 1945
McCone, ? "Earthquake" , Col.
McKeen, Leighton R., Cpl
O'Brien, John, 1st Lt.
Ott, Nelson, 1st Lt.
Ott, Wilitz, Captain
Sorrels, Billy, 2nd Lt.?
Spear, William, ? -- captured by the Germans Feb 14, 1945
Taylor, ? , flight leader
Vance, Reginald F.C., Col

If you have any questions about men who died in that same outfit, I have some details on them.

Mr. Smith, my dad used to talk about Bob Smith, he was in the 344th, out of Iowa, trained in San Antonio and ended up in England. Did you know him? Martin Tewes Bein. Just curious.

Sorry, Terry, but your Dad probably had a different Bob Smith in mind. I was inquiring on behalf of my uncle Woodrow Smith, who was with the 344th. He's 91 now and refuses to use computers. However, I will ask him about Martin Tewes Bein. Do you have specific dates? smile.gif
